aquatic frantic
aquatic_frantic

this is an excerpt of a soundinstallation i did in the medienkulturhaus wels, austria. it is based on the shepard scale.the different sine waves are distributed according to their pitch and loudness to four different speakers set up in the room. it was part of the piece aquatic frantic: together with OchoReSotto we turned the foyer of the Mkh into a gigantic auqarium in which you could loose your equilibrium sense and just float up or down.

klangsieb

people were able to generate a sound input i.e their voice, tiny chimes or rattels captured by two microphones. the input is looped immediately as soon as the input falls under a certain loudness level the input is looped immediately. afterwards the sound will be granulated to get the sound particles, which are turning to different sound drones. the patch changes when there is a long period of silence i.e when nobody produces a new input. then it switches to older captured sounds and mixes them. all this is achieved in real time by a self made reaktor patch.
"klangsieb" was installed at the künstlerhaus salzburg in 2007
